Working for children's services has given me new challenges, but allowed for fantastic experiences. I host storytime sessions to help build a stable foundation for early literacy and academic success. I am able to work with community and educational organizations from The Boys and Girls Club and several elementary schools. I also have the wonderful duty of joining forces on the committee for our annual Whidbey Island Comicon.

I provide reference and information service by assisting patrons in the use of library facilities, equipment, resources, and services as well as offering training to customers in library skills including the use of public computers, catalog and reference computers, Internet, and devices.

On a day to day basis, I handle library materials, provide direct patron customer service both in-person and over the phone, provide answers to reference questions, and assist patrons with library technology services and software. I am also the Volunteer Coordinator, a position which requires coordination of our 40+ volunteers who are instrumental in our library's success. I work closely with my volunteers to monitor both their happiness and their success in their role.

My duties included everything from building a loyal customer base, managing sales and inventory, arranging displays, and building supervision.

I took photographs that I believe accurately represented my experience as a CWU student. The idea behind the program was to combat stereotypes based on what people thought CWU was like versus what life as a Wildcat actually was. My photographs were used in media distributed all over campus as well as in a PowerPoint presentation presented in the National Social Norms Institute convention.
