First of all, I’m Ryan. I live for networks, of all kinds: interconnected ideas, knowledge, people — and the technology that brings it all together. When I learned how to read, all I wanted to do was tell people about the brilliant new world of words opening up to me; when I first connected an office full of computers together it was the same thrilling buzz that drove me to keep exploring and learning. (Wikipedia consumed an entire summer when I discovered it!) I am passionate about human networks and the connections that enrich both our lives and the work we do.I'm a team player, and have managed some of the outstanding teams I've been part of. I'm a storyteller, and use my data science skills to find hidden narratives with data & analytics. R is a beautiful programming language (especially in conjunction with Wickham's Tidyverse), Python and Julia are fun to explore; machine learning and deep learning with frameworks like CNTK and TensorFlow will further change the world. I love working together with creative people, helping build ideas into products and transforming businesses as a result. With nearly a decade of work experience in a variety of roles (mostly tech), I understand that all people have their own unique & diverse strengths and that by working together, magic happens.
