I guess I could say without exaggeration, we are ultra small batch. Without much capital, without investors, without much of anything, we have managed to Get into 16 stores in Oregon. I stumbled upon a job at the Uptown Liquor store. Having been there for eight years, I have not only learned that creating a climate of peers that are respected leads to very low turnover rates, but also that the world of distilling is at the same time vague and ubiquitous. Forging ahead with my bent toward learning, I have broken through the mists and secret societies of those that call themselves distillers. I have learned the market. As the manager of the highest volume liquor store in Oregon, I have become known and respected by distillers and distributors alike and command significant authority over product acquisition and placement. I have also become acquainted with more than a hundred bar managers and owners in the greater Portland metropolitan area. Many of these managers and owners call upon me for assistance whether it has to do with their inventory control programs, current market trends, pricing, or simply for the opinion of my palate.
I started with the production of their smaller, mass produced amplifiers, but was left unsatisfied. Before long, I was put to the task of producing their top tier handmade amplifiers for people like Ted Nugent and Elton John. After a time, I, wanting to understand the larger picture of how their business model worked, acquired a position in production control expediting. Here, I was faced with the task of ascertaining which products we could build on a timeline. We operated nine different production facilities from Chicago to Mexico and I synchronized our builds based upon which parts were currently available so as to keep production flowing.
