I was the Scrum Master responsible for the management of a Team of four developers working in cyber security at BAESystems in Guildford. Together with the Product Owner we were responsible for the design, development and maintenance of the complete Data Warehouse and associated reporting suites.My duties included ensuring the Cognos Environment was Stable and the data was refreshed on a Daily basis. I also enjoyed getting involved in the ETL and more technical aspects of the role.As the Teams Scrum Master I was responsible for ensuring the Agile Philosophy and Frameworks were adhered to and that any blockers to the development team were resolved. As the Teams Transport Manager I took responsibility for the Deployment and smooth running of the UAT and Live environments., As the development lead I was responsible for conducting the teams two weekly 1-2-1’s and Year and Half year reviews. I was also responsible for conducting the Daily Standups and Absence Management.Some of my more recent projects included the Installation, Configuration and migration of the new Data Stage ETL Environment. I have also been involved in the running and maintenance of the SSIS ETL Builds in order to extract the Salesforce data into the SQL Data Warehouse. I also completed several smaller tasks in our ageing Data Manager environment.

I was one of three developers working predominantly in the Data Manager environment. Working on many varying projects. Some of the larger projects Included creating a dashboard to monitor the Agresso to SAP Data Migration. I also assisted in the Development of the new Staging warehouse Builds for our SAP Source System. I also migrated our Salesforce data from the ageing Cognos VVM(Virtual View Manager) system to the new Framework Manager setup. I have also been involved in many smaller Projects.

I was one of a three person team. Together we were responsible for the Design, Development and Implementation of the Cognos Data warehouse Environment within Crest Nicholson. My duties included the Development and smooth Running of the Planning environment which included Cognos Analyst, Cognos Contributor and the Cognos Manager environments. I was also partly responsible for the on-going design and smooth running of the BI Data Manager and SSIS ETL structures, as well as several Framework Manager Packages. My other BI Duties included the design and maintenance of new and existing reports and dashboards that were built using The Report Studio environment. I was also partly responsible for the sections Remedy call queue which could have any manner of internal or business facing technical and Accounting / Business requests. The other business areas included extracting data from the Coins CRM system on a nightly basis. This was a Unix/Progress based backend extracting data into SQL Tables. Another important system that I was regularly involved in was The Business Model which included our Income Statement, Statement of Financial Position and Cashflow. I was also responsible for the installation and configuration and upgrade of our Distributed Production, Development and Configuration environments to Cognos 10.1.1

I was solely responsible for the Design Development and Implementation of the Cognos BI Suite. I was originally tasked to repair the cubes and reports on their aging version 6x – 7 reports. I eventually brought the Systems up to Version 7.3. These included the Impromptu Reports, Powerplay Cubes and the Reporting set of tools. I also started looking into Cognos 8 and the Data Manager Environment.I was primarily involved with the restructuring of the Cognos Servers Primary and failover systems. I also constructed an Offsite fail over system, which was run from an external off site Data Centre. I was also involved in importing the different Database server technologies that came in from the different companies.My main duties included the Data Take on for the different companies that outsourced there HR and Payroll duties. This included importing their current data from their existing Systems into the Mysql format required by Patersons. This meant a good portion of my time was spent in MS SQL Server and Mysql DTS Systems.Other duties included restructuring there many Architect Metadata Models. Then I either modelled that data into Cognos Query or sent this straight out to Impromptu Administrator. These were then published to upfront which i then created new Query wizards so that the users could run their queries and reports. Other duties included using Powerplay transformer to create Cubes of information to allow the users of the system to drill and slice into the data, for easier on demand business queries that could be answered without creating managed reports through Impromptu Administrator.

Developing Small business and financial systems for the DLO and DCSA within ASPI was apart of a team that was responsible for the Design, Development, Implementation and Technical Support of database applications for customers in and around the Directorate. The team were primarily involved in Business Intelligence and Report Writing in the Cognos Reportnet Reporting Suite. I was primarily involved in migrating traditional Crystal Report Data into Cognos Reportnet Report Writing. I also worked on the new structure for the ASP Performance Management Suite and Associated Metrics. I also maintained and updated the Database Systems for the Metrics. As well as Web based development with ASP pages, Javascript and SQL Server, or ASP.NET with XML Schemas and either C# or VB.NET for new system implementations. I was also involved in developing in traditional Visual Basic and Access based systems for applications that have already been developed and either needed bugs fixing or system changes.I was also involved with a large amount of data migration using Data Transformation Services(DTS) from Excel Spreadsheets.

Initially I worked on a second line technical Help desk answering any type of technical questions from the schools and users within the county hall.I was later tasked as a third line mobile support agent, assisting the schools within the county, fixing all manner of Hardware and Software faults, other duties also included general Housekeeping on the systems and tidying up of installations the staff may have attempted.I was also involved in the development of some of the many web sites around the schools in the county, although not one of my primary tasks.
