Employed as a metal fabricator then, due to previous experience, given a boat repair section to manage. This involved repairing remaking & refinishing small & large repair sections on dinghies as well as full refurbishments & refits.Development of the Contender dinghy was also one of my main projects. This included developing & maintaining the various moulds, as well as helping develop the final working systems & overall completion of the early models.Experience & interest in boat rigging & ropework began to become of interest here. An ideal role to aid the transition from the inland waters to coastal waters.
