This was a wide ranging role focussed on making the business fit for the future with a strategy that aligned to the shareholder requirements. The activities includedStrategic review of target markets/customers, products, commercial approach and delivery methodology leading to a • An agreement to target significant growth by focussing on an agreed set of target markets and customers, with a plan to exit from all other opportunities and only add new opportunities in a controlled manner with an agreed plan.• An agreed rationalised set of core growth products (asset tracking and industrial temperature monitoring), with the implementation of product development plans (including manufacturing capability) and regular product reviews.• Agreed pricing with set volume discounts, focus on selling customer outcomes rather than product, all customer trials to be paid for (to ensure customer focus on trial and negotiate any procurement hurdles as early as possible).• Focus on an outsource model of delivery with key partners.Engaging with key shareholders and the chairman, securing support for the new strategic approach. This including outlining lower risk, lower growth scenarios should they wish to take a different approach. Full implementation of the new strategy including sourcing and developing partnerships with key delivery partners, all new commercial propositions, all product development and design decisions, staff development and the overall delivery of all projects.
