About Dr. Richard Faessel

I have extensive experience in management and administration. I have managed and supervised employees throughout my career. My current position is Director of the TeacherReady Program. TeacherReady is a graduate-level, online, alternative teacher preparation program. The program is state-approved and nationally accredited as part of the University of West Florida Professional Education unit. We have helped over 2,000 teachers achieve certification in more than 30 subject areas, across the nation and internationally. During the program, students complete online coursework, in-classroom field work, and the three Florida State Certification Exams.My previous position was a Research Associate at UWF. I was responsible for multiple aspects of data based continuous improvement in the college. My primary responsibilities are to manage and enhance a comprehensive Integrated Assessment System (IAS), which involves collecting information related to evaluations of resources, students, faculty, programs, and departments.In addition to management, administration, and teaching experience, I am highly qualified in various areas of technology. I have held positions as an administrator/manager, as well as an instructional designer in the Division of Technology Research and Development. My duties were to obtain information needed to prepare online programs; prepare training materials; develop course content; determine methodology; and coordinate the development of training aids and implementation of curriculum to the college web site. I was required to collaborate with faculty, and the Teaching and Learning Center to promote and design distance-learning curriculum using the Learning Management System (LMS) Desire-To-Learn (D2L). In addition, I have experience with WebCT, Blackboard, ANGEL, Moodle and SAP.
