This is a safety critical, customer facing role which see's me carrying out various safety and customer service related duties, this includes but is not limited to:- The overseeing of customers boarding and alighting the train and assisting as required. - The safe operation of the train doors. - Making clear on-train announcements and remaining visible to customers at all times, especially during train service disruption and assisting customers as required.- I am trained to carry out emergency protection of the train, in the event of the Train Driver being unable to do so. This role saw me working on the ticket barriers at Raynes Park Railway Station. My duties included but were not limited to:- Overseeing the safe operation of the ticket barriers and reporting any faults which arose.- Dealing with any instances of fare evasion and carrying out action to ensure revenue was protected. - Working in partnership with Revenue Protection Offers, British Transport Police and Rail Community Officers to ensure crime levels remained low and to keep customers safe. - Keeping my workspace clean and presentable at all times. In November 2015, I attended a Train Dispatch course and attained a Rail Operator Safety Critical license. This also allowed me to carry out platform duties, including the safe dispatch of trains, assisting passengers on and off the trains (also by use of the wheelchair ramp). After attaining this additional competency, I covered Station Supervisor shifts as required.Both roles required me to promote high standards of safety awareness and customer service at all times, especially during times of train service disruption.

This interesting and varied customer facing role saw me carrying out a range of different duties. One day, I would be working on the turnstiles welcoming guests into Thorpe Park Resort, another day would see me selling tickets and promoting Annual Pass products. Promoting high standards of customer service at all times was mandatory in this role.This role often saw me handling high quantities of cash and I was required to follow the cash handling rules and regulations at all times to ensure the safety of myself and my colleagues.In August 2014, I was promoted to Admissions Senior Host - this role saw me carrying out the above duties, along with coaching new starters and assisting Team Leaders and Managers as required.
