As the practice manager at Servo I have a team 10 people working for me across the two disciplines. My teams were responsible for the design and implementation of all networking and hosting solutions.My role was to manage these teams, and create new products and services that could be for these areas. Also I was the principle consultant for some of the larger hosting and networking projects.

I was responsible for all development and consultancy for Internet hosting, networking and development projects. I met customers and prospective customers with sales people, and check specifications produced by other staff members are correct. I also provided consultancy for backend integration for commerce systems. This consultancy covered business analysis for integrating e-commerce of business, architecture to provide secure, resilient environments, and technical design, project plans for implementation. Planning for Disaster Recovery Hosting and Backup was a major part or my role.I was responsible for a team of 7 people; my main role however was assisting in the creation of products and services for the division to sell. These products have ranges for specification of hosting platforms that can be sold as a service, development of a common editing tool for to be used to update ICM sites, creation of a specification standard used for quoting internet developments

Energis Square was the largest ISP in Europe, initially concentrating on hosting and Internet connectivity. I moved here to introduce some of my industry experience to establish a development service as part of the company’s portfolio. Whilst at Energis I have been involved in deciding what methods and strategies should be adopted for both development and specification of intranet solutions. Energis is a hands on company so whilst doing this I contributed with my development and analysis skills on several customer projects.

This company is a design house traditionally creating printed material and basic Web sites with flat content. With the acceleration in the Web industry the proprietor decided he needed to introduce a more controlled approach to development, to firstly better meet customer requirements and secondly to add increased functionality.Responsible for all IT development within the company, including internal development standards, corporate IT strategy and product definition.

My responsibilities were to manage the development of reports using MS Access, and SQL queries on an Oracle database; bridge old systems so they would work with the new system during implementation; to implement the companies electronic trading (EDI), and to integrate proof of delivery systems, including barcode scanning and document image processing.

Calmon originally employed me on a teaching company scheme(TCS) a DTI backed program designed to aid the technological development of British industry. My project was to aid in the development and implementation of a new corporate system in a Textile company. Particularly relating to information systems and electronic communications.This role involved researching and creating business systems through a DTI backed scheme supported by Huddersfield University. This led to me becoming IT Manager where I was responsible for the whole of Calmon’s IT infrastructure and systems.
