Manage the Loads and Structural Dynamics team of specialists, overseeing all aspects of static loads, dynamic loads, and structural dynamics development, testing, analysis, and certification efforts across a wide range of products spanning 14 CFR 23, 14 CFR 25, and military programs. Critical roles are contributing to the structural sizing effort, overseeing the structural dynamics lab, safely executing full vehicle ground vibration (GVT) testing and flight flutter envelope expansion, and ensuring all regulatory aspects are addressed and documented.Key Contributions:• Manage overall schedules and deliverables for all supported programs. Assign resources to meet program milestones and engineering financial goals.• Participate in recurring advanced design configuration management meetings helping scope new product development efforts and assign support resources as necessary.• Oversaw team that completed several clean sheet airplane full aircraft GVT, component GVTs, and control surface balance operations as well as subsequent flight flutter envelope expansion testing.• Designed, developed, and tested a novel tuned vibration absorber to address objectionable wing strut vibration. Patent filed.• Established dedicated role within my team to execute the development and use of new tools and technology to improve the workflow and technical capabilities of the team. Focus is both within the various disciplines on my team as well as across other functional areas such as aerodynamics, flight controls, and structural integrity.

Granted foreign authority in CS/JAR 23 and CS/JAR 25 in 2019.Have been involved in the technical and certification aspects of static loads development for five Part 23 airplanes, including the first 14 CFR 23 Amendment 64 program, six Part 25 airplanes, and two Military airplanes.

Critical roles included contributing to the structural sizing effort and ensuring all regulatory aspects were addressed and documented.Key Contributions:• Oversaw the implementation of an enhanced loads analysis tool set to facilitate the inclusion of wing strut loads and wing mounted engines in the evaluation of rational, total aircraft loads.• Eliminated miscommunication of loads to our internal customers through the development of a new common file format and loads post-processing tools to capture and report on loads of interest.• Expanded our flight loads validation proficiency by leveraging knowledge gained on previous programs and extending it to detailed spoiler and flap loads calibration and flight-testing activity.• Introduced a comprehensive flight loads validation effort which included identification of optimal strain gauge locations, appropriate ground calibration testing, generation of strain to load equations, and real-time loads monitoring for safety of flight.• Managed the development of a six degree of freedom flight trajectory simulation tool to rationally perform longitudinal maneuvers for critical horizontal tail loads determination.

Key Contributions:• Primary loads group user of in-house, 6-DOF aircraft simulation software. Scripted the generation of numerous aircraft simulations to define critical loads maneuvers, which defined the structural envelope.• Acted as the primary Loads group contact with the Flight Controls and Flight Sciences groups, supporting refinement of control law development for loads.• Remotely monitored DIOT&E flight test activities at Edwards AFB and performed numerous special investigations, sometimes varying control laws or flight test corrections as required, comparing simulation results to flight test measured data as applicable.

Key Contributions:• Responsible for calculating preliminary design loads for multiple aircraft from the Advanced Design group. Developed preliminary loads analysis tools as well as utilized existing production tools.• For several aircraft development programs, utilized in-house aircraft simulation tools to determine critical maneuvers for airframe loads analysis to meet 14 CFR Part 25 requirements. Completed static loads analysis of the empennage, including calculation of critical conditions and their corresponding airload distributions.• Development, evaluation, and documentation of new and existing loads tools to support certification requirements.
