Assist in managing the daily operations of the Corporate Purchasing Office for multiple campuses with responsibilities for procurement specific to the hospital perioperative departments. Ensure compliance with purchasing policies and procedures and participate in vendor management to resolve issues. Supervise staff and be responsible for team performance and development while monitoring customer service to resolve issues and concerns.Source and manage perioperative supplies, equipment service, and capital equipment orders for eight hospitals. Assist in development of bids and RFPs and evaluation of responses. Manage procurement of equipment and supplies for construction/renovation projects in the perioperative and procedural departments. Regularly engage A/P and vendors to resolve invoice discrepancies and provide solutions.

Function as the primary liaison between Surgical Services and Materials Management handling all surgical related procurement requests including Capital, JIT, and Special Purchase Requests. Serve as member of surgical services product value analysis committee working toward standardization and uncovering cost savings opportunities. Work closely with hospital A/P and vendors to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely and accurate payment of invoices.Assist in developing medical device tracking log, participate in the ongoing education of the surgical services clinical staff regarding medical device / implant tracking related to the ongoing studies performed. Work with clinicians to establish inventory control best practices and product standardization methods.

Manage in excess of 3,500 distinct items as well as inventory valued a $1.5 million while working closely with clinicians to reduce inventory and cost. Maintain daily ordering and replenishment of supplies and update price file with appropriate mark-up formula. Initiate direct/on-line ordering with vendor direct delivery to O.R., PACU, and Anesthesia departments. Compile and maintain data for the Safe Medical Device Act. Participate in the orientation and ongoing education of the perioperative clinicians regarding SMDA regulations. Supervise the Inventory Technician.
