About Rick Brown

As the Chief of Public Affairs for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District, I lead the media relations and public information team and activities for the district's $3B+ portfolio of civil works, military construction, and environmental restoration projects. I also serve on the USACE enterprise-wide Emergency Response External Affairs Cadre, deploying on short-notice to locations across the country impacted by natural and man-made disasters, providing disaster recovery public and stakeholder information assistance alongside FEMA and other federal, state, and local agencies. With more 15 years of experience in public and media relations, crisis communications, and small business communication, I am passionate about delivering clear, timely, and accurate information to the public and stakeholders.I've also shared my expertise and insights as a Master Instructor at the Defense Information School, Maryland, the Public Affairs and Communication Center of Excellence for the Department of Defense.
