Provided security training for over 3000 users. Developed short and long range IT security planning for the Embassy to keep it within FISMA, FIPS, FITARA and other Federal regulations. Responsible for all short and long term planning for the section including training, budgets, and IT modernization. After serving in the position, it was noted in my evaluations how I transformed the ISSO position from one that was fairly hidden into a dynamic program where users were highly educated and motivated. During one such time where I was serving in two positions we were notified of an upcoming Presidential and Secretary of State visit in the middle. As ISO and IMO I had to develop and implement a project for five separate sites in buildings over 500 years old in the middle of winter for multiple E1 lines, telephone service, secure telephone communications and radio communications which required coordination between three countries. The visit went flawlessly and the communications leader for the President's team noted that this was the best setup he had seen to date. During this tour I also engineered and implemented a VoIP system in our telephone network locally which provided improved communications capabilities and extensive savings. I supervised 20 local staff of operators and telephone technicians. I was a team leader in the ISO 9000 certification process helping all sections with training and process development. I developed a database for tracking inventory, preventive maintenance, and maintenance activities on the telephone and information systems. I Served as systems administrator for the Air Defense system at Tyndall Air Force Base in Florida securing the entire southeast United States. Responsible for maintaining over 50 display consoles, 5 mainframe computer systems, and classified network. I served as project lead on several projects. The largest project was one to rewire the entire infrastructure of the Air Defense building. During this project we completely removed, installed and tested all Unshielded Twisted Pair, Shielded Twisted Pair, and Fiber Optic Cable, modernized all patch panels, and upgraded the network to Windows 2000. I worked mainly on an Air Defense mainframe computer system where secured air defense for the entire southeast United States. We also served as the testing and development center for all 5 air defense units placed throughout the United States.
