I’m lazy, I love people, and I’m awesome because of it. Yes, I’m lazy, but not the kind of lazy that sits around doing nothing (I hate doing nothing); I’m the kind of lazy that’s always searching for the most efficient way to do things. I’m the kind of lazy that memorizes all the keyboard shortcuts so I don’t have to use a mouse. I’m the kind of lazy that cuts hours out of my day by shaving minutes and even seconds from the countless repetitive menial tasks that plague us all. It’s this laziness that attracted me to my many roles at Rackspace, and it’s what made me great at them. Aside from being highly efficient in my laziness, I love people; I love helping them out, teaching them, and mentoring them. I want to help them also be free of the repetitive, menial tasks that drive them crazy by embracing efficiency, and automation. I want them to be the best they can be at what they do because that makes everyone’s job better (including mine because I'm lazy :D).My obsession with efficiency and desire to help others have driven my past 10+ years in the IT industry. I have been able to effect change across organizations through mentoring, automation of processes, and reduction of superfluous tasks. Although I’ve only been a Process Engineer for the past 2 years, automation has always been at the heart of everything I have done as a systems administrator, technical account manager, operations engineer, data analyst, and mentor. I know first-hand the importance of creating cross-functional teams and incorporating different perspectives to solve the company’s problems. Don’t be afraid to embrace your inner laziness. Approximately 5,600 residents live within Windcrest city limits. The Economic Development Corporation works diligently to bring new and exciting businesses to the City. Their most recent work can be seen along Walzem Road with the reconstruction of Windsor Park Mall into Rackspace, Inc. The WEDC Board of Directors is responsible for the oversight of the WEDC Budget. They also form policy and with the WEDC Director set projects for the purpose of stimulating economic growth and sustaining development in the City of Windcrest. The WEDC is a Type B corporation authorized by The Development Corporation Act of 1979. WEDC Board Meetings are held the Second Wednesday of every month at 5:30 PM in Council Chambers at City Hall unless posted otherwise. -
