About Ryan Nelson

A chemist by training, I am passionate about science, technology, and data analysis/visualization. I have a successful track record in areas as diverse as technical project leadership to higher education. I enjoy communicating these topics to both general and technical audiences, and I am always happy to expand my network with likeminded professionals. My chemical background is in synthesis and catalysis. As a technical team leader in the global health space, I successfully planned and executed a number of synthetic chemical projects. This work required collecting and interpretating data from a variety of analytical instruments, and I was responsible for assessing and reporting the results of this work, both to technical and high-level management teams. As a former college-level educator, I am an excellent communicator of technical information to general audiences. In addition, I am highly proficient with a variety of computational tools for data analysis, including the Python programming language (see https://github.com/rnelsonchem), and am well versed in quantitative and statistical analyses and effective data visualization.
