Developed the SQIR language and VOQC compiler for quantum programs with Kesha Hietala and other collaborators. Also worked on other applications of formal methods to quantum computing. Supervised by Michael Hicks and Xiaodi Wu.

Worked with Andy Gordon, Neil Toronto, Simon Peyton-Jones, and Claudio Russo on Project Yellow (now Calc Intelligence) to add programming languages features to Excel.

Analyzed vast datasets of consumer transaction data to display detailed information about businesses (ranging from simple price quantiles to a complex measure of customer loyalty) to consumers via Bundle's Merchant Recommendation Engine.Created the underlying merchant similarity graph, based on conditional probabilities of visiting any pair of merchants, that powered the similar merchants and restaurant recommendation engines.Provided data support in numerous other areas, including developing heuristics to identify closed merchants, restructuring and automating the data pipeline, and analyzing consumer trends for Bundle Infographics and National Spending Reports.
