I am a Chartered Engineer and have over 30 years Gas experience, 18 years at Senior Management/executive level. I am currently employed by the 'TAQA' Arab Energy Group of companies, (part of the Citadel Group) based in Cairo, Egypt). My previous position was with Shell International Gas & Power BV, based in the Netherlands, in a dual role as Governance Advisor, Nigeria LNG and Shell Nigeria Gas, as well as GPN Regional Health, Safety & Environmental / Social Performance Advisor for the wider Africa’s. I am currently responsible as Chairman & Managing Director for TAQA EPC Group part of the TAQA Arabia group of companies in Egypt, as well as supporting the MENA region for Business Development.. In my previous role I provided support in the areas of HSE/SP for both operating Joint ventures, such as Nigeria LNG and Shell Nigeria Gas, as well as in the development stage of projects, in Libya, Algeria, Ghana, South Africa and Nigeria. I have held previous roles as Senior Business adviser delivering technical and commercial support across the Shell Gas & power businesses, and Technical Director responsible for establishing a Greenfield City Gas distribution business, based in Cairo, Egypt, a fully owned Shell subsidiary, working with the Egyptian Gas & Petroleum Corporation, delivering a “best in class” project whilst setting the standards with regards to Health, Safety and Environment. Prior to joining Shell, in April 2001, I was employed as Technical Director for a BG joint venture in Mumbai, India.
