Working at KNDL helped me gain experience in a wide range of job roles and environments. It started with me working on an order picker, quickly progressing into the forklifts, then turning into a team leader within a matter of months. It started with me working on an order picker, quickly progressing into the forklifts, then turning into a team leader within a matter of months. Being a made team leader and given the responsibility of ensuring all deliveries made it out on time to a number of sites up and down the country was a big task for someone my age. I knew how to run a team from all the sports I played as a child and some previous experience (Tesco). I took like a duck to water, a few minor issues at the beginning but I only ever made the mistakes once. I then progressed onto a program called KNPS (Kuehne & Nagel Problem Solving), whilst keeping my main role as team leader.This meant I had to look at the efficiency of the work environment and improve it where possible. This saw things like, one way systems to ensure traffic could run at maximum speed, bringing products that were on a high pick rate closer to the drop zones. And a number of other marginal improvements that saw numbers improve dramatically. Show less

I have worked within both the Landscaping and also Roofing tradeWorking with in this industry taught me to always push the extra mile. If it meant staying a hour late to finish something, or if it was carrying an extra block to get the job done faster. I gave it my all every day, mainly down to the fact it had a direct coloration as to how much I earnt and how happy the boss was.It also enabled me to adapt skills for speaking to all different types of people. I learnt to change quickly from Jack the Lad, to a professional tradesman working out ways of solving problems along side the customer.
