Created a caching library Nuget package to replace an existing caching framework that required a third party license. This saved the company money from licensing, and time because the third party library was problematic to setup and use. In addition, I added features to allow using multiple caching frameworks at once, and made it extendable so that more caching frameworks can be added if desired. Uses attribute based caching with Autofac IoC.Developed tools to automate steps in rolling out new software releases to customers cutting deployment times from two weeks to a job that could be run over a weekend.Created a Visual Studio template project that could be used by all the teams to integrate with an internal workflow tool.

Moved several applications and internal frameworks from VS2008 .Net 3.5 to VS2010 .Net 4.0Added MVC 3.0 support to legacy asp.net application to aid future development initiatives.Worked within a team to update a public facing website from a home-brew MVP style architecture to MVC.Net 2.0 that utilized WCF web services behind the scenes.Wrote a series of WCF services to act as part of our SOA for our internal and external facing websites.Prototyped an application that would determine all available discounts for every combination of items within an order and then select the optimum compatible discount combinations and automatically apply those discounts to the order. The calculations this prototype performed were required to be done within a couple of seconds.Rescued a legacy application after it was unable to restart after a crash and not all of the source code could be located, by decompiling dlls from the production web server and rebuilding the solution.Moved in-line SQL in same legacy application to stored procedures on SQL2000 server.Added AES256 encryption for CC and ACH transactions for the legacy application.Refactored code in the legacy application from "spaghetti code" to a n-tier architecture.Upgraded the legacy application from .Net 1.1 to .Net 3.5 and replaced Crystal Reports with MS Reporting Services. Contracted to Surgient in Austin TX working with virtualization using ESX and MS Virtual Server.

Contracted to IBM for six months working with the Perl library Mason. This contract was mostly Perl and Javascript with HTML and CSS work. Then I was contracted to Alcoa designing and developing C# .Net web applications. There were some ASP applications that I refactored as well. Then I was contracted back to IBM for a couple of months working with Perl and Java.

Contracted to White Lion internet agency. Used HTML and CSS to create "table-less" websites with a OO Perl backend and utilizing the Mason Perl library and MySQL database. I was also responsible for the database design behind the project.

Developed additional application enhancements and performed bug fixes on the code base created when I previously worked for NowDocs.

Refactored a one class Java servlet into a JSP based solution using custom action tags and a MVC approach in order to add enhancements and facilitate ease of code maintenance.

Developed a graduated repayment calculator for a student loan web site using JavaScript. Classic ASP development, testing and bug fixing.

Developed plug-ins for Metadot portal application in Perl.Created several test Java servlet applications and ran benchmarks to compare available servlet engines, connection techniques for databases, and tested against an Apache modPerl implementation.

User interface developer on a re-engineering effort allowing product to be configured and used by enterprise clients in an application service provider (hosted) model. Migrated functional based application to a multi-layered architecture under an object-oriented framework.Created an interface component in Perl, which facilitated a custom look and feel for each application service provider customer by acting as a handler on the Apache server when a HTML document was requested and interpreting Perl method calls embedded in HTML templates.

Developed a Perl library to convert Perl data structures to JavaScript data structures reducing the download time for web pages with pop-up menu navigation. Developed and supported a publishing system using Apache modPerl and leveraging OOP. Created a tool to remove bogus data from the database that needed to have low memory and cpu overhead. Created and supported a data mining system in Perl using XML for retrieval of data from remote sources.

Helped start this company with five other people. Due to the this my many duties included: Cisco administration, IRIX, Solaris, Linux and Windows administration, Network administration, Perl programming, C++ programming, VB programming, HTML and Javascript programming, Livewire programming, and SQL with Oracle and Informix databases. In addition I also went on sales calls and was involved with hiring and firing decisions. Often called upon to come up with creative solutions to problems on a very limited budget.

This company was a spin-off from InterMedia Systems. As such, I was employee number one and I reported to a VP at InterMedia. My duties started with creating HTML and expanded quickly into writing Perl cgi scripts, and IRIX and linux administration. As the parent company fell on hard times and let staff go, I was required to pick up additional tasks like network administration and Cisco router administration.

Started in PC assembly, Novell networking, help desk and testing. Quickly moved on to developing with packages like Toolbook. Later started developing with HTML.
