That is where the similarity ends. Over Rob’s numerous years in the custom manufacturing arena he has developed a short list of highly motivated, best in their class sub-contractors with capabilities that range from unique Heat Treating of materials to Plating and part conditioning QUALITY GOES IN BEFORE THE NAME GOES ON Quality is Not a Tag Line at LPM, it is real – they have just earned their AS9100C certification – On first go. They are not perfect, when we experience a quality concern – LPM’s response is timely and accurate. SUMMARY I do not view LPM as a supplier but as an extension to our capabilities and our customers. Example: This past month we had a high tolerance part which is used in the Heads Up display helmet for the F35 Fighter Jet program. Rob and his team reviewed the Request For Quotation (RFQ) package and suggested that we add a radius call-out in one location. If we could, than we would save both the cost of EDM and Lead Time. Our engineering staff is relatively young – very capable in CAD Design, but not a lot of years at a mill – Rob and LPM have those needed years of hands on experience. We agreed with all of Rob’s improvements. When RFQ’s are sent to LPM, they do more than just quote, they look at what we need to do for manufacturability. They have suggested different; • Heat Treatment solutions which extend the tools life • New Protective Coatings which extend the application • Drawing Tolerances that effect cost and lead time • Outside Processes that we may not be aware of that will ultimately make for a better product for our customers "
