As the sole Bid Manager in CSE, I am responsible for the entire bid process from initial EOI / PQQ stages through to contract negotiation and handover. I am accountable for organisation of the bid team to complete each response, build win themes and sales strategies with the account managers, creating and managing the cost model and ensuring the agreed bid time line is adhered to.I have had a number of recent successes totaling $24.5 million in new projects for Rio Tinto, Bechtel, Woodside and Inpex and $5.5 million in maintenance projects for Chevron, ConocoPhillips and Inpex.

Perth, Australia

Rob was employed as the sole Bid Manager in Perth to undertake the key bid functions within the local office of Ausenco, a provider of Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Management (ECPM) services to the mining and resource industry. Rob’s responsibilities included managing the bid / no bid process and engaging with the Ausenco senior directors in allocating appropriate resources to complete the bid. He would manage the response document and ensure that the bid was completed on time and to a high standard before submission to the customer.

With bid experience covering IT outsourcing, telecommunications, networking, hardware and software maintenance, IT consultancy, and installation services, Rob has managed bids across all major industry sectors with values ranging from £300k to £35m. He has attained both Foundation and Practitioner level accreditation with the Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP), and was a member of the bid team which won the UK APMP Bid Excellence Award in both 2010 and 2012 and personally won the 2012 APMP Knowledge Management Award.

Rob was part of a team starting-up a new bid management function within an existing sales organisation. He was responsible for bid responses from PQQ stage through to ITT submission and presentation. Key duties included organising and managing the bid team, providing challenge on content and win themes, resource allocation, and budgeting. In addition, a large part of the role was setting-up the initial bid process and then continually adapting and improving the process to meet the changing demands of the sales function. Rob also had a key role in knowledge management and created a Microsoft SharePoint portal to act as a central repository for completed bids, boilerplate content, case studies, and process information.
