Senior Geo-surveyor. Extensive experience in archaeological survey and mapping gained over 24 years’ working in both Scotland and Ireland. 3D digital documentation is core to this, working at scales from landscapes to small finds and objects. Skilled in data capture and process including lidar modelling, photogrammetry, SfM, terrestrial laser scanning, close range scanning and geodetic ground surveying. Numerous publications including book chapters, peer viewed papers and journals.BiographyI began work with the Discovery Programme in January 2002 as a geo-surveyor. My extensive experience in archaeological survey gained with RCAHMS has been applied to the work of the research projects at the Discovery Programme. I’ve also been able to further my own research interests in the application of new technologies to archaeological survey. Notable achievements, both individual and collaborative include:• Introduction of Terrestrial Laser Scanning (TLS) technology to improve the surveying of excavations and upstanding buildings • Development of remote survey techniques for the three dimensional recording of monuments and landscapes, including digital photogrammetry, and high resolution lidar• Advanced 3 dimensional modelling of cultural objects, monuments and landscapes• Participation in EU Culture 2007 - 2013 framework Archaeolandscapes project & 3D-ICONS (EU ICT Policy Support Programme) 2012 - 2015• Member of the Management Committee of COST Action TD 1201, COSCH (Colour and Space in Cultural Heritage), 2012 – 2016
