Research Associate working within the Rolls Royce UTC focusing on computational crystallography. Working closely with analysing large datasets using computational MATLAB toolbox MTEX. Also involved in research and development of ultra-high temperature ceramics and novel alloys with interesting mechanical properties based on variations in electron localisation within the crystal structure.

My Internship at Exane involved working within equity research product management.

My PhD focused on analysing the effects of high temperature exposure on the environmental degradation of coated Nickel superalloys for gas turbine applications.

I was awarded a $5000 scholarship to study in Japan at the Prestigious National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS). I studied beginner and intermediate courses in Japanese for a year prior to this, to gain proficiency in speaking, listening and reading in order to improve the quality of the time I would spend there.The project was arranged by the Japanese Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS). I was one of almost 100 foreign research fellows from around the world to come and the experience was incredible. I had access to world leading research facilities and under the supervision of Dr. Hideyuki Murakami, helped to form a strong collaboration between his surface kinetics group and the Rolls Royce UTC here in Cambridge.
