Field Artillery Intelligence Officer (FAIO) for the 1st Infantry Division serves as the current Fire Support Element representative to the Division G2's Analysis Control Element located in the Division Main Command Post. The FAIO synchronizes the Intelligence Collection Effort for the identification and subsequent attack of High Payoff Targets and High Value Individuals. Also assists in the synchronization of all division level, lethal and non-lethal fires including rocket, cannon, electronic attack, air interdiction and attack aviation. Responsible for writing the Division Fires Annex and SOP's to support planning, preparation and execution of battle drills. The FAIO also performs the duties as Division Targeting Officer and Deputy Effects Coordinator in their absence and assists in the training and readiness of the Division Fire Support Element.

Advises and keeps the deputy fire support coordinator informed on issues concerning targeting and fire support. Participate as a member of the targeting working group at corps or division. Helps determine the high payoff target list (HPTL). Supervises or conducts target coordinate mensuration when applicable. Conducts munitions effects analysis (weaponeering) when applicable. Supervises or conducts collateral damage estimation when applicable. Interfaces with the fires cell in subordinate units. Keeps the field artillery intelligence officer (FAIO) informed on changes to the HPTL. Passes targets received from the FAIO to engagement systems in the most expedient manner.

Targeting / Electronic Warfare Integration Officer for a M109A6 Paladin equipped Battalion for the 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division. Responsible for providing the commander tactical guidance for the integration of lethal and non-lethal effects. Responsible for all aspects of strategy, planning, and targeting to include establishing objectives and command relationships, integration, coordination and deconfliction between component commanders through assessment of operations, deconfliction of duplicative efforts and synchronization and integration of targeting with other activities of the combined force. Coordinates, prepares, and maintains the electronic warfare target list, electronic attack (EA) taskings, EA requests, and the EW portion of the sensor/attack matrix. Coordinates the EA target list with organic military intelligence units and with adjacent and higher commands when appropriate; Performs as the Safety Officer for the Battalion consisting of over 400 people resulting in zero incidents; very efficient in Microsoft Office 2013.
