Lead Research and Development (R&D) of Commercial Laser systems used in: Biomedical, Automotive and semiconductor processing. Prepare project scope across multiple projects with inputs from sponsors and customers in alignment with the business needs. Develop program strategies, detailed project schedules, resource plans and budgets.• Control and monitor daily execution while continuously re-assessing risks• Proactively take necessary actions to consistently meet all deliverables• Improve Product Development Process (PDP)• Teach Statistical Process Control (SPC)• Successfully managed the release to production of a Biomedical Laser platform (FCD488) from multiple R&D locations in US to an offshore manufacturing site in Shenzhen, China. The project involved sourcing and qualification of multiple key components locally in Asia achieving the cost target without negative impact to the performance and quality of the products• Led the development of an Industrial Laser system for the Automotive market (IDL200S). The development involved the coordination of hardware and software engineers both internally and externally as well as specialty optical component designers and manufacturing engineers. The outcome was a Laser system with two times the power at 50% of the manufacturing cost compared to the previous generation• Managed the development and transfer to production of Germanium based Concentrated Photovoltaic (CPV) cell products. The 1½ year project was completed on time and within budget with performance leapfrogging Lumentum at the forefront for Solar Cell products
