I work on the team that oversees the daily operations of the university’s data center, ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of our IT infrastructure. My responsibilities include monitoring system performance, managing hardware and software, troubleshooting issues, and implementing disaster recovery procedures. I collaborate with IT professionals to support academic and administrative functions, maintaining high standards of data integrity and availability.

I help support the Network Operations Centre team to upgrade and maintain the University network and associated infrastructure. I answer 2nd level support questions for our Help Desk and I work with students and staff at Western to ensure that they have a positive computer user experience.

Provide computer support and training for Faculty, Staff and Students. Train students to be Help Desk staff. Document procedures and systems, using wiki technology. Clean viruses and malware from machines and make recommendations for safe computing use.

Initiated and developed documentation strategies for the ITS department. Implemented and deployed initial documentation strategies. Assisted in the deployment of a wiki based knowledge tool.

4 month secondment, on loan from the University of Western Ontario to the United Way to help assist both the United Way and the University to reach their fund raising goals. Presented information and provided campaign materials to many groups on campus. Consulted with campus campaign coordinators to assist with fund raising goal setting and achievement
