Perform testing on manufactured products including incoming raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods. Assays include pH, water content (Karl Fischer titration), UV-Vis, Gas Chromatography, formaldehyde titration, viscosity, refractive index, and other routine chemical tests. Document results with accuracy and adhere to current good manufacturing practices and documentation (cGMP, cGDP). Collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing, and R&D colleagues to trouble-shoot issues and to improve processes. Partner with colleagues to assist with new instrument verification and validation, write work instructions / standard operating procedures, and develop and validate new testing assays. Work with colleagues in R&D, Regulatory, Marketing, and Manufacturing to review new raw materials, review product formulations, and adjust product formulations when necessary.Led PPI Kaizen event in January 2018 that resulted in a 73% time reduction for a critical quality function.

- Conducted research in the field of Glycobiology- Assisted in the training and mentoring of undergraduate students- Assisted in the development of a new protein purification protocol called ‘Capture and Release’ (CARE), a fast and cheap new approach to the purification of proteins- Co-Author on a published journal article in Biochemistry, entitled “Significant Other Half of a Glycoconjugate: Contributions of Scaffolds to Lectin−Glycoconjugate Interactions” which describes the contributions scaffolds make to lectin-glycoconjugate interactions- Presented "Purification and Characterization of a Highly Active Hemolytic Lectin" at the 11th annual BRC research forum- Presented "‘Capture and Release’ (CARE): a Faster and Cheaper Way of Protein Purification" at the 10th Annual ESC/BRC Student Research Forum and the 2014 Graduate Research Colloquium- Purified a new plant protein (DIL) using our newly designed purification protocol and implicated its role in plant metabolism and plant defense based on isothermal calorimetric data with invertase and mannan - Purified a robust new hemolytic plant lectin (HelyX) using chromatographic methods and characterized the proteins carbohydrate binding properties using hemagglutination inhibition assays
