Primary responsibility consists of working Incidents as a Threat Lead and called upon to work to assist on more advanced threats. Lead threat hunting efforts to identify potential threats throughout the MDR customer base. Onboard and train new Threat Analysts. Handle escalations from Tier I & II Threat Analysts - guide / advise on investigation handling. Participate in Security Operations process improvement and creation. Collaborate and assist core security and threat response teams. Obtain metrics for reporting on threat trends, intelligence analysis, and situational awareness. Actively recent research Indicators or Compromise/Attack, exploits, and vulnerabilities. Shift lead responsible for day-to-day administrative tasks.

o Investigate and analyze logs and security-related events via Sophos toolingo Identify and respond to cyber threats occurring within customer environmentso Communicate and document findings to various customer audiences including technical and executive teamso Follow up with customers through to issue resolution and drive continuous improvement by providing detailed recommendations to minimize risk in customer environmentso Acknowledge and satisfy inbound customer requests and interact with customers through various mediumso Collaborate and assist with core security and threat response teamso Actively research emerging Indicators of Compromise/Attack, exploits and vulnerabilities with the intent of operationalizing findings to better protect our customers

Responsible for first half team. Lead analyst on shift Sunday-Wednesday on a 24 hour per day schedule. Responsible for ensuring SLA is promptly met. Verify legitimacy of escalated events and conduct calls to clients if necessary. Identify threats and confirm malicious origins using OSINT tools. Create runbook procedures for proper handling/removal of alerts, demonstrated knowledge of threat hunting within Qradar, and updating SOPs as needed. Conduct training with level 1 analysts to improve knowledge of cyber-attacks, use of Qradar, and creating professional tickets. Implement new rules within Qradar and tune rule logic to reduce the number of false positives. Meet with clients on a weekly basis for incident/alert improvement processes. Responsible for keeping the SOC and clients up to date on new/current threats utilizing threat activity reports. Responsible for attending interviews for potential job candidates.

Create runbook procedures for proper handling/removal of alerts, demonstrated knowledge of threat hunting within Qradar, and updating SOPs as needed. Conducted training with level 1 analysts to improve knowledge of cyber-attacks, use of Qradar, and creating professional tickets. Handled escalation of tickets to provide deeper analysis on events. Responsible for creating CR tickets to improve SIEM processes and alert logic. Responsible for conducting vulnerability scans of client’s networks.

Responsibilities include monitoring clients networks in order to triage potential threats and any known virus, trojan, or malware. Follow runbooks procedures for proper handling/removal of alerts. Escalate alerts not addressed in runbook to supervisor for remediation. Work closely with peers to improve processes, tools, and reports being used that support customer needs.
