Instructional Systems Specialist
CurrentIndependently uses adult learning theory and instructional systems methodology to assess, plan, develop, design, and implement employee education and training products. Evaluates results, forms conclusions, and uses finding information to design and develop new or modified learning/training products. Leads inter-professional education/training project teams, maintains up-to-date project plans to include established milestones, and reports on project progress. Manages assignments to ensure they are completed in a timely, efficient, and effective manner. Proactively supports the work of the division in addition to completing independent assignments. Demonstrates quality and accountability of work products by taking ownership; work products are clear, accurate, and well-organized without supervisory assistance. Keeps abreast of current developments, policies, and procedures within area(s) of responsibility to ensure it aligns with CDER's strategic needs. Independently utilizes appropriate theories and models (e.g., adult learning and Instructional Systems Design) to provide consultation on the analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation of education/training, and incorporating appropriate technology in the design. Demonstrates knowledge and skills of concepts related to employee education/training, and software application systems used to support employee education/training activities (examples included, but are not limited to: Microsoft Office Suite, Authoring Tools, Learning Management System (LMS), CE Portal, SharePoint, Adobe Connect, WebEx, Skype, and meeting/classroom systems). Builds collaborative relationships with working groups, teams, and subject matter experts. Provides responsive service to internal/external customers by acknowledging customer request within one business day; keeps customers informed on progress of any open requests.
