We specialise in meeting critical needs for victims of conflict, disaster, famine, and epidemics throughout the world, often working through ministry partners on the ground. We provide food, water, shelter, medicine, and other assistance in the Name of Jesus Christ.

México, Mexico

I’ve deployed to Acapulco, Mexico as part of the Samaritan’s Purse disaster relief response to Hurricane Otis. Although my normal role is as security manager, I’ve been asked to deploy on this occasion as a logistics officer because of my ability to speak Spanish (albeit rusty!)

Ukraine

I have deployed to Ukraine to lead a team of Samaritan’s Purse security specialists advising the in-country DART leadership and programme managers on how best to conduct our humanitarian relief in this challenging environment.

Aden, Yemen

Returning to Yemen to conduct district security assessment for a health and water/sanitation project and to cover a gap in the permanent position.

Aden, Republic Of Yemen

I am blessed to be part of a small team that is setting up a country office in Aden in order to provide humanitarian relief in southern Yemen.

North East Syria

Providing security planning for the establishment of a new Country Office to deliver humanitarian relief in North East Syria.

Kurdistan/Syria

Samaritan’s Purse is currently providing medical, shelter, WASH, and non-food support to refugees from the current renewed conflict in Syria. A DART has been deployed to deliver this humanitarian aid, of which I am privileged to be a part.

Ethiopia

I deployed to Ethiopia to cover the absence of the country Security Manager. This is a re-establishment of a country office that closed in 2012. Ethiopia has over 1,000,000 refugees from South Sudan, Somalia, and Eritrea, and 2,000,000 internally displaced people due to ethnic violence.

Mozambique

Samaritan’s Purse has deployed a disaster assistance response team (DART) to Mozambique to distribute emergency shelters, implement water and hygiene programmes, and provide an emergency field clinic in Búzi.

Iraq

I was asked to fill a gap between the security manager being promoted and his successor being appointed. This was a busy time with several new projects being implemented in Ninewa Governorate with significant security challenges. I was pleased to have been able to contribute.

Kurdistan

I was asked to deploy to N Iraq to plan for the provision of relief to North East Syria.which we do not currently cover.

Haiti

I was fortunate to have been asked to fill a gap in the security management in Haiti pending the appointment of a full time manager. Haiti is the poorest country in the northern hemisphere, having suffered a devastating earthquake in 2010 and then being hit by Hurricane Matthew in 2016. Samaritan's Purse in Haiti is transitioning from emergency relief to long-term operations and projects, which alters the support profile required.

Kurdistan Region Of Iraq

I was called to fill a gap in SP's humanitarian operations in Northern Iraq until mid October, with responsibility for safety and security with specific focus on planning for the Mosul Operation

South Sudan

In addition to the DART role, some volunteers are called to fill gaps in longer term deployments and from May to August 2015 I was deployed to Juba and Bunj (Maban County) in South Sudan to support the in-country field office.
