In the General Assembly Immersive program, I was able to improve my knowledge and skills in web development in thirteen weeks. Building off my knowledge of HTML and CSS, I learned the languages of JavaScript and Ruby. From there, the course opened up to the frameworks of Ruby on Rails and Express through Node.js.Other key tools that were introduced through the program included the usage of Bootstrap, Handlebars and the libraries jQuery and React on the front-end design process. With each new tool and language, I was able to build 4 applications through their entire developmental life cycle.With guidelines and requirements set for each application, I was able to build an idea around each set, and implement them into functional code. One of the four projects, was a collaborative effort by myself and two other members, to build a full stack application where we all learned the importance of teamwork, communication and the art of Git merge and rebase. Since the classes completion, I continuously work and learn to solidify my understanding of all the languages and tools taught during my tenure at General Assembly. I am currently focused on working with more JavaScript by building a better grasp of the React library and Express framework.

Began as a temporary screen printer and graphic designer three days a week. Then brought on as a full time employee in January 2017.In May 2017, I was promoted to production manager, which included the responsibilities of lead screen printer and the head of manufacturing. Along with the owner, I helped facilitate a weekly schedule that became beneficial to both the company and its customers. Within the first six months as shop manager, production was running more time efficiently, and the cost of waste saw a decrease of 90%.

During my college tenure, my brother in-law and myself began a two man painting team. We began with a single apartment complex, consisting of about 80 units, that would require us to paint or re-coat each apartment prior to every move-in.After graduating, I chose to use my newly developed marketing skills towards becoming a business owner, and we formed P.C. Painting. Along with the marketing background, I was able to use and improve my skillset of; scheduling and time management, accounting, organization and customer relations.Over the span of four and a half years of business, we expanded our workload to include two property management companies, both of which combined for nine apartment complexes, about 800 total units, scattered over the state of Rhode Island, and an average of 50 interior and exterior residential work per year. With the new properties and residential work obtained through networking, we were also able to sustain a 15% profit growth yearly.
