I assist in various income/franchise and sales and use tax consulting matters, including representing clients in refund appeals before the Pennsylvania Board of Appeals and Board of Finance and Revenue.I advise clients on state income tax consequences of transactions involving topics such as state apportionment of business income vs. allocation of non-business income; state conformity to federal legislation such as the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 and the CARES Act, among others; state tax treatment of offshore transactions where property is subsequently moved into the State; analysis of state economic nexus with regards to being subject to tax; application of Pennsylvania sourcing provisions in the wake of the Synthes decision in February, 2023; and numerous other issues.I have assisted in due diligence and modeling for deal work involving mergers and liquidations; provided research support and State and Local Tax cash tax modelling for bankruptcies; provided support in ongoing state tax controversies for international clients; and assisted in research for credit and incentives at the state level.

Conducted research for both Legislation and Regulation and Legal Writing for Professor Ben Bratman. I assisted in devising a fact pattern for the first-year memo assignment and performed research into the Supreme Court's October 2020 term to find cases with a focus on statutory interpretation or administrative law. I was also tasked with compiling a list of every ABA accredited law school's curriculum to identify ones which had classes in statutory interpretation or administrative law, and which required such classes.
