At the very heart of who I am, lies a problem solver. Embarking on the journey with York Athletics in 2015 as the very first employee, we navigated the challenge of building a brand from scratch. The early days were a whirlwind of learning and adapting on the fly. Witnessing our daily orders continually climb was not just rewarding but a tangible mark of our growth and the hard work of our team. Naturally, growth brings its own set of challenges. No matter the obstacle, I've been at the forefront, steering us back on course. In a business that demands versatility, I became the company's Swiss Army knife - the go-to for solutions, regardless of the challenge at hand.My first job out of school was as a sales associate at Marathon Sports, a running specialty footwear store. As a lifelong competitive distance runner, this role felt like a natural extension of my interests. However, I saw my role extending beyond sales. I was there to understand our customers' needs and the problems they faced, helping them discover the ideal pair of shoes. Whether they sought comfort for everyday wear or were seasoned marathoners, my goal was always to ensure they left with footwear that met their unique requirements. This customer-first approach has remained a cornerstone of my professional ethos.My approach extends beyond just the business world. As a skateboarding instructor, my methodology has always been analytical, tailored to meet the unique needs of students across various ages and skill levels. Recognizing that learning is not one-size-fits-all, I developed diverse strategies to explain techniques, ensuring effective learning.
