I am a chartered architect with over 30 years of experience of working in Sport, Leisure, Retail and Residential Architecture. My experience has ranged from small scale refurbishments to major international venues. I have a specialist knowledge of enabling developments for sports projects and through this have also developed an understanding of large scale residential development. My experience in designing sports facilities is second to none and I have worked, almost uniquely, on every size and type of sport and leisure project. I have designed a number of stadiums including two important projects in Bristol for Bristol Rovers FC and Gloucestershire CCC.I have been at the forefront of sport and leisure design since 1984 when I joined Mark Potiriadis and Peter Sargent in the 5 person practice of Sargent and Potiriadis. We grew from this small number in 1984 to a multi agency leisure consultancy employing well over 100 people in 1990. Unfortunately the practice was badly hit in the 1991 recession and was reduced to 10 people and became solely an architectural practice again trading as a limited company- S&P Ltd. It was at this time that I became managing director with sole responsibility for running the company. Over the years a number of others joined and subsequently became directors with the late Chris Barr becoming a director in 1994 being joined by Paul Young, Peter Simpson and later Mike Nagelstajn, Martin Lindus and Keith Ashton. The late Mark Potiriadis ceased being a consultant in 2000 although we continued to work with him on projects in Greece. The practice grew from a turnover of about £600k in its first year to over £5m in 2009 when I left to join Arturus Architects Llp.
