I thrive as a fixer, builder, inventor, communicator, and idea facilitator, leveraging my multidisciplinary expertise to deliver tailored solutions for clients, particularly in the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) industries.Here’s a snapshot of my career journey:Civil Engineering and CAD Design (1985-2008): Started as a Civil Engineering hand-drafter, advancing to roles including Civil CAD Manager and Senior Designer.Film/Video Production (2007-2011): Gained experience in video VFX and training videos, notably as producer, executive producer, and post-production supervisor for the animated feature film MARS (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1109488/).Handyman and Custom Home Building (2008-2018): Ran a handyman business, transitioned to a Custom Home Building "Punch-list" Project Manager, and led a steel fabrication team to create window and door packages based on engineering shop drawings that I produced.LiDAR Consultancy (2019-2022): Operated a consultancy focused on scanning heritage trees for custom home architects and generated shop drawings from designs that I integrated into LiDAR point cloud data.WGI Civil Innovation Engineer (2023-2024): Developed customizations for Autodesk's Civil 3D, created fine-grading QC tools, developed Bluebeam profiles and QC protocols, led innovation workshops, and conducted R&D on AR, VR, digital twin technologies, administrative generative A.I. solutions and machine learning for automated plan review.Back to Superbob! While I learned a ton at WGI, the time came to move on. Looking forward to taking my Innovation Engineering skills to the next project!Clinical caretaker (2014-present): Though I jokingly refer to this as my "Un-Registered Nurse" side-gig, and though navigating the challenges of managing the complex medical needs of my youngest child led to several of the darkest years of my life, this experience remains my proudest accomplishment and a constant anchor of perspective.A lifelong learner driven by curiosity, I am always asking, “How does that work?” I am now seeking the next challenge where I can apply my extensive experience and continue to grow.
