Responsible for the day to day operation of Covestro LLC’s outbound logistics network covering truck, bulk truck and rail transportation, warehousing and third-party packaging operations, bulk transloading and bulk marine terminal operations as well as international operations. Oversee the management of third party logistics suppliers to execute all outbound logistics functions for Covestro LLC. Accountable for the implementation of Covestro LLC policies, procedures and practices for operation of the logistics distribution network and ensuring consistency with national and international rules and regulations ensuring safe, secure and legal distribution. Collaborate globally with colleagues in APAC, EMEA and LATAM to standardize, harmonize, and implement transportation and logistics practices.

Responsible for establishing and optimizing the logistics network to support Bayer’s business goals and objectives. Develop and implement strategic plans that capture synergies for rail transportation, marine transportation, external warehousing, transloading, packaging and distribution to assure efficient and effective delivery of products to customers. Function as a critical resource for Marketing, Production, Regional Product Management and the Supply Chain Center in NAFTA to assure internal and external customer requirements for product distribution can be met. Responsible for cost-effective, uninterrupted, strategic procurement of rail, marine, warehousing, drumming and transloading services. Manage activities related to Contract Management, cost reduction tracking, and NAFTA cost reporting. Responsible for the management of freight payment process issues between our contracted freight carriers and our 3PL service providers. Responsible for implementing corrective action plans and/or process changes to fully resolve systemic freight payment issues.

• Responsible for developing, recommending and managing warehousing and bulk terminal policies and developing procedures and standards for handling and processing of sales orders, receipt of materials, product tendering, storage and asset security, day-to-day carrier management and corporate write-off and disposal of obsolete products. Developed vision and set objectives for all Bayer warehouse physical activities, warehouse safety, cost containment/reduction and productivity enhancements for owned/leased facilities, public warehouses, bulk terminals and 3rd party packaging facilities. • Set strategy and managed the warehouse regulatory compliance, corporate safety and Responsible Care program efforts to ensure regulatory compliance and the safe handling of materials to prevent personal injury and/or damage to property and the environment. Including the responsibility for the annual inspection of Bayer non-plant warehousing and bulk terminal sites to insure compliance with all governmental regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT, NFPA, etc.) and internal BMS policies. • Served as a member of the Bayer Logistics Strategy Council to coordinate the centralization of facility selection and management, and to work with division management to improve safety, service and cost performance of all Bayer distribution facilities.
