My capstone project at Northrop Grumman culminated my hands-on experience in cybersecurity, focusing on intrusion detection systems like Suricata and enhancing them with the use of LLMs. I was able to apply my knowledge of network security to collect data and train ChatGPT AI to detect malicious activity. I utilized the knowledge I acquired from courses such as Secure Software Engineering, System Security and Resilience, Computer Networking, Cyber Vulnerabilities and Reverse Engineering Industrial Automation. My achievements in academia, such as making the Dean's List twice, shows only part of my strong commitment to the cybersecurity engineering field.Beyond academics, as a Division I athlete, I honed leadership and teamwork competencies vital in high-stakes environments. Having these experiences alongside my education allowed me to develop efficient time management skills, tenacity, and drive. Our team's collaborative spirit and my drive to excel in complex, dynamic scenarios underpin my approach to cybersecurity challenges, underscoring my readiness for the professional realm.
