After completing my first year of law school in May, 1983, I began a two year clerkship with McGrath, North, O'Malley & Kratz in Omaha (now McGrath, North, Mullin & Kratz). I graduated summa cum laude from Creighton Law School in May, 1985, and was hired by McGrath, North as an attorney. I worked directly under the firm's managing partner on matters typically involving tax, corporate, and/or securities laws.In January, 1986, I decided to leave McGrath, North to join my family's firm started approximately 20 years earlier by my father, James W. Knowles, Sr. We focus our practice on representing personal injury victims primarily from eastern Nebraska and western Iowa. The firm is currently comprised of my brother (Jim), two nephews (Matt and Ben), my oldest daughter (Christina), and my son (Bobby). All graduated from Creighton Law School. My father is largely retired from the practice, although he remains "of counsel."Over the past 30 years, I have successfully tried cases in both federal and state courts in Nebraska and western Iowa. While the majority of my practice is representing clients injured as a result of motor vehicle accidents, I have also successfully handled premises liability cases, products liability cases (including an Iowa wrongful death claim resulting from a defective lift chair), and medical malpractice cases including failure to properly anesthetize an infant and failure to diagnose malignant melanoma.Specialties: Plaintiff's Personal Injury Lawyer
