4.5 years with ARCO Pipeline assisting operating staff in product pipeline repairs, preparing the annual budget and writing construction bid specifications.18.5 years with Universal ENSCO now Universal Pegasus preparing proposals to include identifying route selection options, crossings and those that might require a permit. As a lead engineer, took draftsman to the field to gather data on existing pig launchers and receivers so that they could be reconfigured to handle smart pigs and filters as needed for ethylene and other petrochemical products requested by customer. Also examined main line buried block valve sites to bring them above ground. This work included back checking new drawings, verifying material counts, and writing procedures for purging the associated piping adjacent to the old pig trap, old trap removal, and installation of new traps, valves, and piping as needed along with filter connections if required. Recently my work involved cleaning and smart pigging and re-commissionsing an 18-inch anhydrous hydrogen chloride pipeline approximately 17-miles long.Finally, I was one of two lead engineers involved in the route selection for a 20-inch hydrogen pipeline from southeast Houston to Port Arthur. My responsibilities included overseeing junior engineers and preparing permit applications in support of road / railroad crossings. Numerous directional drill calculations and drawings were done to account for the effect of water bodies and wetland areas near the route. Alignment sheets were reviewed and induction bend for field bends identified. During this time I mentored 3 college graduates and provided them field experience.
