I act on revocation cases before the Licence Appeal Tribunal wherein in a real estate registration faces the sanction of revocation; do hearings before the Discipline and Appeal Committees of the Real Estate Council of Ontario. In addition, I prosecute individuals before the courts in Ontario for breaches of the Real Estate and Business Brokers Act. I also give seminars to employees and outside organizations regarding regulatory law. I support other departments of RECO with legal opinions.

Has successfully been involved in many high profile cases with persons prosecuted with fraud, trust defalcation and other breaches of the Real Estate and Business Brokers Act. Is a regular lecturer on professional disciplinary matters, administrative law and other topics in law.

While at the Real Estate Council of Ontario Robert argued dozens of cases before the Ontario Court of Justice, the Discipline Committee and Appeal Committee of the Real Estate Council of Ontario and the Licence Appeal Tribunal of Ontario. In addition, Robert was involved in judicial reviews and appeals before the Divisional Court and the Court of Appeal for Ontario. Mr. Maxwell also handled civil litigation matters and provided advice on a range of matters dealing with organized real estate in Ontario.

Robert dealt with files involving allegations of mortgage fraud and a lawyer's involvement in mortgage fraud. He was involved general in the disciplinary process at the Law Society of Upper Canada.
