I joined the Specialty Solutions Group at Intact with the objective of growing the management liability portfolio and further enhancing the company's presence in the D&O, Crime, and EPL market segments. The role spans the non-profit, private, and public company risk classes. Responsibilities include underwriting, marketing, and participation in product development initiatives. Maintaining established service standards, expanding underwriting appetite, mentoring, and identifying new distribution opportunities are also key components of the position.

The role focused on underwriting D&O, EPL, Crime, Fiduciary, and K&R coverage for public, private, and non profit entities. I also gained an understanding of Miscellaneous Professional Liability, Reps and Warranties, and Cyber Liability coverage.I was responsible for a renewal portfolio of approximately $4.0 million each year while generating an average of $500,000 of new business as a result of marketing and prospecting activities. This contributed to an underwriting profit for the regional and national portfolio in each year of my tenure. Hired as an Underwriter (2007), I received successive promotions to Senior Underwriter (2008), Underwriting Officer (2011), and Senior Underwriting Officer (2014). I was also selected to the Expert Career Path (2011), specializing in mining industry risks. In this role I co-authored a global strategy paper outlining D&O underwriting guidelines for risks in this sector. An extension of my responsibilities included regional responsibility for program business and multinational placements. I was also able to play an integral role in the career development of many younger colleges.
