  • Prepare and execute daily lesson plans in a dynamic classroom where group work, interactivity and creative thinking are utilized. • Maintain accurate grade records and facilitate communication with parents and guardians via phone, email, and in person conferences. • Prepare and facilitate Individual Education Plans (IEP) for students that are not meeting the minimum grade requirements. • Study and maintain up to date knowledge of all current curriculum including training sessions and district content related meetings. This includes mandatory test and recertification procedures. • As the team lead I am responsible for escalating team related student and instructor issues to administration in a timely and efficient manner. I also plan and facilitate team meetings in which I disseminate information obtained from weekly leadership meetings held with administration. In addition, I am responsible for making everyday decision related to the success of the students on my team in relation to learning environment, discipline, and behavior related issues. • As the head of the Social Studies Department I am responsible for making decisions along side administration regarding the curriculum and textbooks that get used in our school. It is my responsibility to determine inventory, disseminate workbooks and textbooks, and facilitate the implementation of new textbook adoption. Included in this role is planning and facilitation department meetings in which content related questions and issues are addressed and resolved based on the departments needs. I work closely with the principal of our school in the daily management of our Social Studies Department.
