I was responsible for preparing the Council’s first Infrastructure Plan, which analyses current provision and identifies areas of infrastructure deficiency within the town. This is a significant piece of work that will shape the future development of the town. I have also been responsible for preparing a draft Masterplan for Prissick, which is allocated as a key site for outdoor sports provision within Middlesbrough as well as incorporating a number of other land uses. In addition, I prepared Development Briefs for a number of key housing sites across the town that have been adopted as Supplementary Planning Documents within Middlesbrough’s Local Development Framework (LDF).
I worked on a wide variety of projects in my time at Cundall, ranging from small schemes for individual clients to larger schemes involving multi-disciplinary project teams. I was responsible for managing a number of projects, relating in particular to Secondary Academies in London, Yorkshire and Northumberland. This involved me overseeing aspects of the projects such as attending and presenting reports to clients, liaising with local planning authorities, preparing planning applications and relevant supplementary planning reports, managing the preparation of supporting documentation and overseeing the successful discharge of planning conditions. In addition to this, I worked on a number of small scale residential schemes in both urban and rural locations and prepared Policy Reviews for large scale mixed use and industrial proposals. I was also responsible for writing and providing input into fee bids as and when required.
I was mainly involved in the preparation of the City Centre Area Action Plan. This involved me preparing draft policies for the emerging plan and evaluating potential development sites across the City Centre in order to identify the most appropriate uses for these sites. I also prepared a number of Draft Informal Planning Guidance Notes for sites throughout the North Central Regeneration area and was involved in providing planning advice for the Building Schools for the Future project.
I was involved in work relating primarily to retail and minerals policy. With regard to retail work, I provided responses to proposals for retail development within the County as well as preparing responses to Government consultation documents on retail issues and summary documents on new policy directions. In addition to this, I was responsible for preparing the County Council’s first Annual Monitoring Report for Minerals and Waste.
