I frequently encounter hard working teams within companies, uncomfortable with bringing out their creativity. Whether it's the culture or a lifetime of experience (which has trained them to look for the "one right answer"), even the smartest teams find brainstorming to be an up hill battle. Shooting down idea-seeds from others, or group nods of support for the boss' idea are common practice. Write and wipe boards or tear-off pads serve as the primary tools and the session outputs are frequently minimal, expected and safe. There are far more effective tactics. Utilizing individual experiences, a brand filter, planned session exercises and the right amount of random stimulus, generates high quantities of new, different, actionable concepts that fit the brand's objectives. Using your existing resources such as employees, vendor-partners and (a couple secret ingredients) elevates the team's creativity. Creativity is a multiplier of resources. Now you have leveraged your brand equities, and taken a step toward being more creative than your competitors. And when working to grow your business, that's more helpful to the bottom line, than simply trying to out spend them.Perhaps the greatest reward I experience in my work is seeing a "Eureka Moment" happen, with a team that suddenly realizes, they ARE still creative, and just gave life to an incredible concept. I love to pull out the creativity inside each person contributing and watch the synergy take the company to new heights!

Creative lead on branding and promotional programs for diverse client list including PepsiCo, BP/AmPm, Chevron, DreamWorks, New Line Cinema (partial list). Served as Design Director and Creative Director for staff of designers, illustrators, copywriters and digital artists, supporting client strategic objectives.

Directed creative staff in support of retainer-based clients and new business team. Developed concepts and presented work in support of clients' strategegic promotional and branding needs. Multiple years on clients such as Unocal 76, Mrs Fields cookies, Days Inns, Disney and more.

Department head - Design development of products, advertising, packaging, trade shows and event marketing, for 80+ million dollar sporting goods company. Products included apparel, snowboards, skateboards and related goods.
