Creation & review of internal operational procedures for the Service Logistics Center (SLC) associates and all related logistical and purchasing staff on a national level. Responsible for the maintenance of the SLC intranet website. Provides national onsite training of newly hired Logistics Analysts (LA) at branch office or client locations. Training involves the LA job responsibilities. Vendors include all major manufacturers and their warranty/non-warranty part return procedures. Created a national, standardized filing and tracking system for all associated paperwork and part receipts. Also involved with the daily operations of the SIMS program, dispatch, return to vendor problems, general overall SIMS and Access database maintenance, inventory integrity and the SLC distribution center. Other responsibilities include the national quarterly spares inventory, weekly report generations to all management levels, daily monitoring of vendor cross ship returns and field logistics support.
In charge of all logistic operations for the New York office. Documentation of all service parts received, shipped, warranty paperwork, etc. to numerous major vendors. Other tasks included providing administrative support by instructing the technicians on utilizing the numerous databases. Ensured accuracy of all work orders, documentation, part number inquires and maintaining an accurate inventory for the branch. Also processed spare parts sales and provide service work order status to customers and internal staff.
Assigned and tracked service calls logged from the national dispatch center to our regional office via the UNIX based SIMS program. Notified all clients of the receipt of their service issue at the local level, basic technical evaluation of the problems clients were experiencing and assignment to the appropriate pool of 20 – 25 technical associates for site repair. Undated and verified newly entered work orders with correct call type, model, serial numbers and warranty entitlements before release to the field engineers. Tracked contractual response times, evaluated customer needs and dispatching of appropriate field engineers. Trained field engineers on procedures and internal protocol, client response and expectations, parts ordering, etc. Maintained technician attendance and payroll review and authorization. Participated with the District Service Manager in Field Engineer’s performance evaluations.
Held this position for six months until new Service Manager was hired. Same responsibilities as above.

Responsible for the procurement of parts, supplies and inventory control of equipment for the southeast region. Performance of these tasks required maintaining the database for parts and equipment, interfacing with numerous vendors for sourcing and purchasing material for technician field repairs, processing warranty claims and accounting for in-house and customer purchases. Other functions were the back up dispatcher. Equipment used was an IBM 38 mainframe.

Held northern Virginia, southern Maryland and downtown Washington, DC field territories.Managed a remote site from my home in Hampton, VA supporting the NASA/Langley Air Force account for 2 years. Responsibilities included repair of equipment, training, marketing, interfacing with government officials on requests for proposals and solicitations, performing monthly billing reviews and controlling equipment and parts inventory.
Hand assembly and testing of secure communications devices for the U.S. armed forces, radar equipment for the FAA and other U.S. government agencies and NATO alliance countries. Was involved in 5 different production contracts with over 5 million a month in sales. Involved in all phases of production including component insertion, soldering to military “MIL” specifications, DECAS submittal preparation and testing of intricate RF and microwave assemblies. Held a “top secret” security clearance.
