Attorney / Owner
Over the years, I greatly enjoyed working with hundreds of clients on their estate planning. And the quality of my work was recognized by my selection as a Missouri & Kansas Super Lawyer (top 5%) in the Estate Planning & Probate practice area for my last three years in practice. But all good things must end – In June 2023, I retired from the practice of law and folded the tent of the Ramsdell Law Office.I am, however, continuing to present educational seminars on estate planning at the Senior Resource Center for Douglas County located at 745 Vermont Street in Lawrence. There are two more seminars scheduled in 2023 - on July 27 and October 26, both at 2:00pm – 3:30pm.Relevant to adults of all ages, these seminars are free and open to the public. They cover topics such as: • How will your property be distributed at your death? And who will be in charge of the distribution? • How can you name the person who will become the guardian of any minor children for whom you are responsible? • How can you use a trust to ensure assets are safeguarded and used for the benefit of a beneficiary? • How can you specify who will handle your finances and make medical decisions if you are alive but incapacitated?• How can you avoid probate? And will you be subject to estate taxes?Seating is limited.
