Carl June Laboratory

I work part time as research specialist in Carl June's Laboratory at the University of Pennsylvania. I investigate immunotherapy as a means of cancer treatment, specifically chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy. My research involves expanding upon the current knowledge base of CARs by shedding light on the nature of CAR signaling and the importance of structural CAR design, as well as designing CARs against at novel targets. More recently I have focused on designing mechanisms to reduce the toxicity of CAR T cell therapy.

As a member of the Carter Laboratory, I designed and constructed a single-beam gradient force trap (optical tweezers). I also constructed DNA tethers to preform tethered particle motion as way to analyze DNA length and DNA condensation in germ cells.

During my time as Vice President of All College Inc., I managed operations of a student-run summer storage business operating at 22 schools in 6 states. I also handled phones and e-mail communication with over 1,000 customers, scheduled and hire daily labor to store over 5,000 items per summer and directed and operated a student-run laundry service.
