After graduating from Winona State University, I was given the opportunity to work for Fastenal as a Government Sales Coordinator (part-time). Shortly after starting, I was given a full-time role with Fastenal's Inside Sales team and received my introduction to Fastenal's Tier I Supplier Diversity Program.My early participation in Supplier Diversity was essential for learning how to effectively communicate with Fastenal's stores, Fastenal's small business partners and Fastenal's product end users. This stage of my career is also where I developed skills in sourcing, quoting and selling Fastenal's products.Transitioning into Fastenal's Tier II Supplier Diversity program had a natural flow. The move gave me the opportunity to be involved with customer contracts, supplier development and supplier data enrichment. I also accepted opportunities to add to my role/skill set and began managing Fastenal's sustainable product offering and answering for Fastenal's Federal Representations and Certifications.With each job change there was an opportunity to learn, grow and add to my value as an employee. Change is constant, don't be stuck staying the same.
