I am a career railroader with 40 years’ experience in mechanical, intermodal, safety and transportation operations for CSX Transportation. Prior to the railroad I served four years in the US Marine Corps that taught me valuable leadership skills. As a railroad manager I excelled in numerous positions with CSX and take great pride that I worked as a switchman and carman for nine years before entering management. I am a proven manager with strong leadership and people skills. At CSX I managed a full range of logistical and operational duties for several terminals, divisions and network operations. In addition I also managed areas including car operations, division train operations, intermodal network operations and mechanical safety and training. Those duties included budgeting, fleet administration, information technology, property management and procurement. I oversaw the day-to-day operations, managed budgets, manpower including meeting internal and external customer needs. As Director of Mechanical Training the last nine years of my career I was responsible for developing and consolidating training programs for CSX Mechanical Operations. I am also familiar with Federal Railroad Administration and Association of American Railroad rules and regulations. I have held positions transportation operations as switchman, trainmaster, assistant terminal manager and director train operations. I also held positions in mechanical operations as a carman, supervisor, assistant general car foreman, general car foreman and manager of safety. In CSX Intermodal I held a position of manager of network operations.
