As Group Commercial Manager my role was to evaluate the group’s accounting, administration, reporting and controls systems following disappointing trading results and what was perceived to be an accounting system in crisis. My brief was to review and improve all aspects of the accounting, controls and reporting systems in order to produce accurate financial reports for the Board of Directors.Duties and responsibilities:-Providing Management and Administration of the Accounting and Bookkeeping Systems and controls-Support the board in the development and implementation of business plans and the achievement of the business strategies-Develop and recommend strategies to the board to monitor business planning and strategy across the organisation-Ensure accurate and timely lodgement of all reporting and financial statements as required by statute, regulation and other agreements governing business unit activities-Provide management reporting and analysis as required to senior management including monthly accounts, budgets and cash forecasts-Monitor results against budgets and forecasts and advise corrective action-Provide Taxation Services and Information-Prepare Financial Statements to audit standard & providing Audit Liaison-Provide Start Up Business Services (all aspects including business structure, Registrations and Trading Names)-Prepare Pricing & Costing Calculations-Provide ATO Benchmarking & Sham Contracting Information-Provide effective Control systems (both income and costs)-Ensure Fair Work Compliance and providing information thereon-Ensure Work Health & Safety Compliance and providing information thereon-Provide effective Cash Flow Management -Provide Payroll and Payroll Assist Services to clients-Control and monitor Credit Management Processes-Control and monitor Debt Management Processes-Investigate and provide Finance & Insurance Options-Investigate Business Opportunities and Appraisals

On joining my brief was to improve the accounting and reporting systems to provide up to date and accurate data. While successfully completing this project I was also heavily involved in operations which covered over 2,000 employees working in the data entry and imaging business, with clients both large companies, State and Federal Government departments. I was the Project Manager for large projects such as the Telstra Share floats, AMP De-mutualisation and TAB (NSW) float.During my tenure, I set up an overseas operation in Manila, servicing the data needs of large American clients in the nuclear waste and insurance type business. In doing so I created a company with no Philippines ownership or equity, and negotiated directly with the Philippines Board of Investment with an added benefit of tax free status for a period of time.My role reported directly to the Business Owner (CEO) on cash flow requirements and solutions, operating results by division, new business strategies, business development, budgeting and forecasts reporting, problem solving, and mergers and acquisitions.
